Plants are life, don't they kill things?

There is a clear definition of killing in Buddhist scriptures. Killing in Buddhism does not include plants.

Perhaps in modern botany, destroying plants can be described as killing, but Buddhism only refers to the killing of six divisions in the Wheel of Karma as "killing". The definition of Buddhism is different from that of botany.
