What are the advantages and disadvantages of the centralized meter reading system communication method (485 vs. carrier wave\)? What do you know about broadband communication methods?

485 mode:

485 communication between centralizer and collector

485 communication between collector and meter

Advantages: good data collection, high real-time line and accuracy.

Disadvantages: need to lay a dedicated 485 line, high cost; the line needs to be maintained, increasing the maintenance workload.

Carrier mode:

Concentrator directly carries out carrier communication with the carrier meter

Advantages: Borrowing the existing power line, no need to lay another line, low cost, no need to increase maintenance.

Disadvantages: unstable data collection, affected by power consumption, real-time and accuracy are difficult to guarantee during peak periods.

Half-carrier mode:

Concentrator and collector use power carrier communication

Collector and meter use 485 communication

Combining the two communication modes of 485 and carrier, the real-time and accuracy of data collection is lower than that of 485, and higher than that of carrier. 485 line usage has been greatly reduced, which saves cost and maintenance workload compared with full 485 mode. The workload of maintenance is reduced.
